LIQUID X

Among the many of my experiences I have been blessed with (wink), I have suffered for probably 8 years with anxiety, depression, insomnia and ADD. Well the ADD has been for a while longer. I am a firm believer and frequent user of essential oils. Now many people have their opinions of oils. In the short period that I have been using them, people have referred to them as 'witchcraft' and 'black magic' and just basically overall BS. Now I know most of those things are said in good fun. But I also have felt the skepticism from my immediate family and friends regarding their effectiveness, if any at all. I haven't been the best at this in my life, but I would recommend not knocking something unless you have given it a try. I feel like if something works for someone then more power to them. Who am I to say their results aren't real?My favorite stories explain some instances where my belief in essential oils was tested and proved. Here in the United States we are really only accustomed to western medicine. We all carry the belief that if there is a 'problem' in the body, then there is surely a corresponding pill that will 'cure' that problem. Now I'm no natural hippy. I have taken tons of pills in my life. But what I've come to find is that the symptoms that are showing up are just that. Symptoms. We are not diagnosing or even treating the problem with the pills that are prescribed. We are treating the symptoms. And what happens when you treat the symptoms with medicine alone is that the problem never goes away. And if it does, then you better believe it will manifest in another form of "DIS-EASE" in the body. If you want to argue with me that my "problem" is INSOMNIA or DEPRESSION, you will get shut down pretty quickly. Because I know for a fact that the problem is much deeper. You can throw me some Xanax or Zoloft or Adderall but the only result will be a blanket feeling of nothing-ness. Not too happy but not too sad. I don't want to walk around feeling like a zombie. I am more interested in a permanent solution with a side of personal understanding, than I am in a quick fix. (However it definitely took time to get to that place) We are so used to getting everything instantly whether it be relief, food, entertainment, ANYTHING really. We need to do a better job at listening to our emotions/bodies and using them to our benefit. But because we still have the symptoms showing up from the dis-ease in our bodies, we need natural solutions that will assist with relief, not give us more problems then we had in the first place (also known as side effects)

SO now to my point. There have been a few experiences with essential oils that have made me a believer, one of which I wanted to share. It happened a few months ago. I had been lucky enough to get a 3 day weekend because I worked 4 ten-hour shifts that week. I didn't do much of anything which must have contributed to the MASSIVE panic attack that ensued. My husband was in the back room working out and I was just laying in our bed. I had been crying and I had the most uneasy feeling. I couldn't put it on to anything. I really didn't know what I was so worked up about. I felt awful. When he came in and asked me what was wrong I brought up the first 2 things that came to my head. He wasn't buying it. It was pretty clear that I was having a no-reason-panic-attack, the worst kind. He immediately asked what he could do, to which I responded "nothing." Do you ever have those moments where you honestly believe that nothing will help and you don't want to even TRY anything because part of you just wants to feel sorry for yourself? Yeah.... So finally he asked what oils could he put on me. I probably ignored him once or twice and then finally reluctantly said "balance" and "serenity." Those 2 really are my go to oils. The serenity has: Lavendar, sweet marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, sandalwood and vanilla oil in it. It is a calming blend great for anxiety and insomnia. And my husbands favorite :) the balance blend has Spruce, Rosewood, Frankincense and Blue tansy. It is a grounding blend (video blog with more ranting/raving to follow!) Very great for when you feel all over the place, because it brings you back to reality (hence, grounding.) So he put the oils on my feet, the back of my neck and behind my ears and just told me to lay there for a few minutes while he jumped in the shower. Well, sure enough within 3 minutes, YES 3 MINUTES, I felt fine. I dont' mean kind of fine or just better, I felt absolutely calm. It was one of those situations that cannot be denied or attributed to anything else. It was incredible and to be honest I was very pleased that I could have the same results from natural, safe essential oil blends, as I could with a .5mg of xanax. I highly urge anyone who is taking any medication to research the effects that medication is having on your body. And then look for natural solutions. I don't want my body to start falling apart as I age, and I doubt you do either. If you have any questions as to the use of oils or in what oils would be beneficial to you, PLEASE ASK. I will let you know or find the answer if need be. My constant goal is to get myself into a peak state and then maintain it as long as possible. And my mind cant be right if my body isn't right and vice versa.

Please post comments, questions or concerns here or on my facebook. I'd love to hear from you!

    1. Hi thanks for your question! Balance isn't an oil that I use daily although I probably should...but it is definitely my "go-to" oil for any type of anxiety or upset. I usually use about 3 drops of balance to 5 drops fractionated coconut oil, and I apply it on the back of my neck and on the soles of my feet. I add one drop of vetiver if I need something more heavy-duty. I use it mostly as needed, but if you have ongoing anxiety I would apply it morning and night!

    2. I've heard that rubbing DoTERRA Slim & Sassy onto the bottom of your feet before bedtime is awesome, I haven't tried it but I'm hearing great things and lots of success for a good nights sleep.

    3. I use Lavender & Marjoram in a diffuser and sometimes put a couple of drops on my pillow case. On really bad nights, I do this and put vetiver on the bottom of my feet.

    1. I know these oils seem a little pricey but when you consider how many differnent things you can use them for and less Dr. visits...they're extremely afforadable! I would suggest starting with the Introductory Pack of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint - tons of stuff you can use them for! Here's a great link with ideas...

    2. Tj, if you sign up as a consultant, you pay a $35 fee, BUT you receive 25% off retail price. It may take time to build up a good supply of the different oils, but you can do it a bit at a time. And she's right about saving money on doctors and medicine, too. Good luck hon! :)

  6. For those of you wondering what to do or where to start-- first and foremost I would recommend that you take doterras life long vitality supplements. They are amazing! They give me so much energy. Also I know my aunt takes frankincense under her tongue 2 drops twice a day I believe. I would do that in addition to a few drops of balance on the feet with franctionated coconut oil. Her is my site if you wanna take a look!

  8. I had a hysterectomy a couple months ago and asked Rebecca what might help with the transition. She recommended a Balance & Frankincense blend on the bottom of my feet twice daily. I was doing it and feeling fine. I was actually wondering if it was working or not. I got my answer the day I had to go back to the doctor (I had been over doing it and was experiencing some pain). I forgot to put some oils on my feet that morning and had a complete melt down when talking to the doctor. That convinced me! I now put it on in the morning and before I go to bed. I found that putting it on before bed helps me to relax and go to sleep better.

  11. This info couldn't come at a better time! My son is having panic attacks/anxiety attacks complete with chest pains...he's 20 years old. I'm going to order him some oils! I was already planning on getting him some On Guard, Lavender, and Peppermint. I think I'll get the key chain pack and send him some of the trial sizes and then tell him how to use them. I too have anxiety attacks (due to the near loss of my Grandmother in Jan. and the sudden tragic loss of our 2 year old grandson) I think this will help me! I have both on hand so I'm going to try right now!!............

  18. I actually became an affiliate since I buy so many of their products. However, It came in, I mixed it the first night with some Dream Salve that I had made from Camp Wander and I slept like a baby! I woke up rested, not groggy. Then the next night I put it on after dinner so that by bedtime I was nice and relaxed. I ended up mixing some in a roller bottle with FCO and bringing it in to work to roll on. I don't have anxiety issues, or at least I didn't think I did but this stuff works great. Work seems easier for some reason. :)

  19. Maggie: I have degenerative disc disease & am in constant pain. One surgery helped one part but, if you are not familiar with the spine, it becomes a vicious cycle as other discs (at least in my case,) start to degenerate for various reasons. What oil/s, if any, might be beneficial? Am also going through a great deal of stress (which makes pain worse due to muscle tension) with a teenager. Would truly welcome your input. Thanks so much, Cindy

  20. I am going to try to make this somewhat sort of a post...but I'm not so sure how effective I'll be at that. I just stumbled upon this post and your Liquid Ambien post from Pinterest. I've been thinking a lot about getting into DoTERRA because I really need a natural approach to some issues I've been facing, namely ADD, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I've struggled a lot with anxiety and depression, and was even hospitalized (yes, thrown in the "loony bin") after my second child was born because of how severe my postpartum depression was. It took me >2 years to even get back to semi normal. I went off of my depression meds in January for multiple reasons, the two main reasons being 1) I've always dreamed of adopting from China and they will not let you adopt if you are on depression meds--and you have to have been off for at least 2 years to even apply; 2) Doctors have said they believe my ADD has masked itself as depression for all these years making the ADD hard to diagnose, and the depression hard to treat. (Regardless of the severity of my depression, I struggled for MONTHS going off of the meds.) Obviously I had REAL full blown depression after my son was born, but the other times, I just don't know if it was depression or just my ADD. At any rate, I was still taking my ADD meds (Adderall) and was hugely dependent on them. Sometimes I battle within myself, "Do I really have such severe ADD, or do I just like these meds because I'm lazy and they're uppers to help me function?" I honestly am pretty much non-functional without them. At any rate, in the last 3 months, I kicked my husband out for years of lies and addiction that came to light, my mother had a heart attack, I took my husband back after much prayer, counseling, and consideration, and recently found out I'm pregnant with another child. Needless to say, this was NOT planned. I've gone off of my Adderall, not only for the sake of the baby, but also for the sake of my heart because it can have major adverse affects on heart health, and I recently found out that my mother's recent health issues are genetic. AT ANY RATE, I'm kind of a mess lately. And without my meds I am HOPELESS!! So I feel like I need something not only for sleeplessness (which I'm hoping your Liquid Ambien will treat), but, I also greatly need something for energy. Something that'll somehow give me motivation and maybe a little functionality. On top of that, with this pregnancy, I need something for depression and major anxiety too. But I'm afraid your liquid Xanax will just make me groggy. What would you recommend for me? (Sorry this post was so long...)
